A Post from Chad Adams

The Central Carolina Jaycees recently received numerous honors at the N.C. State Jaycee Year-End Convention in Greensboro. The chapter was recognized as one of the top five chapters in the state for 2006. Alecia Adams received the Hawkins Memorial Award as one of the top six local presidents in the state. Dana and Matt Kaufman were recognized as one of the top five Families of the Year for North Carolina. Dana Kaufman was recognized as one of the top five Jaycees in the state.

First-year Jaycee Paul Messino won the statewide speech competition in the novice category and also won the statewide writing competition. With that win, Messino was asked to represent the state in national competition in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

During national competition this past week, Messino finished as one of the top 10 finalists in the nation with an essay on “Action vs. Inaction in Society.” This is the highest level of recognition ever received by a Central Carolina Jaycee.
